This is a very attractive Rio Red 1958 Chevrolet Impala. It has the 348ci engine with a 4bbl carburetor. I have
owned the car for fifteen years and the car spent much of its life in Texas. A detailed description of the car
follows:
Exterior - Overall the car is looks very nice. The paint is base/clear with a high level of shine. There is some
minor peeling of clear coat around the door edges and trunk edges. There is also an area next to the trunk on the
left rear panel where the paint has separated. The area is about one/ half inch by eight inches. It is only
noticeable by looking closely. The chrome on both bumpers is nice and the side trim looks very good. All four
hubcaps are excellent with new spinners. The chrome around the side windows is fair to good. All glass is clear
with some very minor bubbling. In summary, the car looks impressive from ten feet but a close inspection shows what
I have described. There is no body damage and very few, if any, stone chips. There is no rust.
Interior- The interior is in excellent condition with no tears, stains or scrapes. The carpet is clean and looks like
new.The headliner is excellent and the dash, steering wheel and interior trim are very good.
All gauges work as do the radio, heater, windshield wipers and clock. All lights work including turn signals.
Trunk- The trunk is clean and mat is in good condition. The inner fenders are painted black rather than the correct
single stage rio red. Car has a jack and good spare.
Engine- The engine compartment is clean but driver quality. The air cleaner has been restored nicely.
Underbody- The underbody is driver quality but is not overly dirty. When the car was restored, the underneath was
painted black rather than the correct red oxide.
